- Thursday, 26 March 2026 · 11 Chaitra 1432
- Shukla Ashtami: 25 Mar 1:50 pm to 26 Mar 11:49 am
- Ashtami at sunrise

## How the day is chosen

Shukla Ashtami of Chaitra, by the tithi at sunrise: the day whose sunrise falls in the tithi.

Traditional (Surya Siddhanta) panjikas, such as Gupta Press and Beni Madhab Sil, can differ in tithi times by hours, so in some years the day differs too. Their dates will appear here side by side once that school has been checked against a full printed year.

Tithi times are for Kolkata, in Indian Standard Time. Panjikas give Kolkata’s festival days for all of West Bengal. [Why another panjika may differ](https://ritupatra.app/support#en)
