The last day of Poush. Makar Sankranti is the moment the Sun enters Makara (Capricorn, sidereal); Magh begins after it by the West Bengal month rule, and the day before 1 Magh is Poush Sankranti.

Traditional (Surya Siddhanta) panjikas, such as Gupta Press and Beni Madhab Sil, can differ in tithi times by hours, so in some years the day differs too. Their dates will appear here side by side once that school has been checked against a full printed year.
