How the day is chosen
Shukla Panchami of Magh (Sri Panchami). The day whose forenoon (the first third of daytime) holds the Panchami; if both or neither do, the earlier day (Tithitattva).
Traditional (Surya Siddhanta) panjikas, such as Gupta Press and Beni Madhab Sil, can differ in tithi times by hours, so in some years the day differs too. Their dates will appear here side by side once that school has been checked against a full printed year.
